Karen has been very careful and operates her tanning salon in a responsible manner-even discouraging some fair-skinned people from using the service.

It is not surprising that Karen chose to locate her business in the Reston / Herndon area because she was already a part of the community. She explains: “I grew up in Reston. I went to Herndon High School and I raised my children here. It’s nice to live and work in the same town.” Karen works with the local schools, donates to silent auctions and fundraisers, and employs business co-op students.
